How To Apply

Congratulations on taking the first step towards your journey. What an exciting time! Let us guide you through our easy enrollment process. 

 

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of cosmetologists and estheticians is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations from 2020 to 2030. If you have aspired to pursue a career in cosmetology, esthetics, or related disciplines in the beauty industry, now is the time to say, YES! 

Admission Requirements (review 4-step admissions process below)

Students enrolling in PACE must meet the following requirements:

  1. 17 years of age or older.

  2. Completed PACE Program Application.

  3. Applicants are required to sit for a pre-enrollment interview with the PACE Admissions Team to determine eligibility into PACE programs. All applicants are asked the same interview questions. Each applicant must score a minimum of 75 points to advance.

  4. Signed Enrollment Agreement.

  5. Enrollment and tuition fees paid (payment plans available).

  6. Purchase kit and books.

  7. Attend orientation on the first day of classes and submit the Kansas Board of Cosmetology Apprentice Application.

4-Step Admissions Process

Step Two

Selective Admissions 

Premier Academy of Cosmetology and Esthetics LLC (PACE) is a Selective Admission Program. PACE has a limited number of openings each year. Acceptance into PACE is competitive, therefore applicants are expected to have a full understanding of the program requirements and industry standards. Applicants are required to sit for a pre-enrollment interview with the PACE Admissions Team to determine eligibility into PACE programs. All applicants are asked the same interview questions. Each applicant must score a minimum of 75 points to advance to step three of the PACE admissions process. To schedule your pre-enrollment interview, Click Here.

 

Step Three

Sign Enrollment Agreement and pay fees. Details provided during the pre-enrollment interview.

Step Four

Attend orientation on the first day of classes.

PACE must stay in compliance with the rules and regulations set by the Kansas Board of Cosmetology (KBOC). Students must hold a current apprentice license issued by the KBOC. Apprentice license applications are completed and submitted during orientation.

 

The following items are required on the day of orientation: 

  1. $15 apprentice application fee payable to the Kansas Board of Cosmetology by check, credit card or money order.

  2. Current government issued photo ID (driver’s license, state issued ID or military ID).

  3. Social Security CARD (the name on your application, ID and Social Security card must match exactly). Students who fail to provide all required documents and valid forms of ID on the day of orientation will be dismissed from the program.   4. High School Education is required for initial licensure. You must be a graduate of an accredited high school, have a general education diploma (GED), or a foreign diploma that has been verified by ECE or AEQUO.

Foreign Transcripts 

All foreign transcripts must be evaluated by the (ECE) Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. The Kansas Board of  Cosmetology will not accept evaluations from any other company. You may contact the ECE directly at: 414-289-3400 or www.ece.org.  

*You must be a graduate of an accredited high school, have a general education diploma (GED), or a foreign diploma that has been verified by ECE or AEQUO for initial Kansas Board of Cosmetology licensure.
